blessings

one of my three favorite professors in college would do this every once in awhile as an in-class exercise... so i will do it for you now... maybe you will be inspired to do it as well.

name some blessings in your life right now and things in your life that you are grateful for:
- my amazingly fun and loving family
- my best friends who have been with me through thick and thin
- my friends who are fun, supportive, loving, and just awesome.
- that i have friends that call me, text me, hangout with me, and like to do it-- that really is a blessing!
- my sweet roommates and the fun times we have together and that they make our house a home
- HD Satellite TV with DVR... love it!
- my beautiful home with awesome neighbors on steps from the sand
- my education, my degree, and my job that came from it
- my car, car insurance, health insurance, and life insurance! haha.
- my puppies
- my health, mental well-being, liberties, freedoms, and ability to do things and enjoy life

now, vent out some things that have recently just... "sucked" in the last few months and then add something at the end of it to see it in a positive light:

- one of my bosses drives me insane and calls me constantly to see how things are going in the house [i work in a group home] and i feel like she is nagging all the time... BUT at least to notices me and trusts me enough to be the one that she calls when she needs something...
- two of my best friends live far away and i don't get to see them very often... BUT we still stay very close in touch thanks to cell phones, letters, emails, etc.  AND it makes the times when we are together, that much better.
- i'm single again after my boyfriend at the time cheated on me, lied to me, left me, and treated me like crap... BUT i have amazing friends and family to get me through the rough times, i'm not stuck back in petaluma with him, i'm living at the beach, and i can now have the opportunity to be with someone who will treat me right.
- i'm basically broke... BUT i only have student loan debt, i have a job so that i can start to pay it back, and all my bills and rent are paid!

now look at both lists; remember that the positive out weigh the negative, that there are so many blessings in life, even when things go sour, and that at the end of the day, you are able to be thankful.
