February shoot: Nitr0gene and VoodooFae.

It's about time I uploaded another photoshoot. A couple of weeks back I ran off to Paul's Studio again for a shoot with Nitr0gene and Voodoo Fae. In a somewhat unprecedented move, my efforts to get a makeup artist actually succeeded for once, so we had Leanne Bisson on set to do makeup.

Overall a successful day's shooting and messing about with lights. Naturally, with all the toys available my favourite picture of the day turned out to be a single-light shot of Fae:

The day got off to a slightly rocky start with travel, leading to the comedy inversion that those who were going to arrive last arrived first, and vice versa. Then when we got to the studio, I managed to catch my leg on some cloth, bring the cloth and camera (with attached lens) crashing down onto the floor. To my surprise, no damage was done to lens or camera - Canon 30D + Sigma 17-70 get winning votes for toughness. It did knock a load of dirt off the sensor though.

Very soon things came under control again and we started shooting Fae:

Fae was lovely but slightly smaller than I expected. The pictures really give no indication, but she is incredibly thin:

... and still looks good in a corset.

After this we did a switch to Nitr0gene for a bit. First up was an image we'd been planning in quite some detail. It still didn't come off quite as imagined, but if anything I like it more:

Nitr0gene had a couple of those fantastic hair pieces, courtesy of Amore de Mori. She's also quite good at dressing up her hair; wigs for the win:

Back to Fae again. I'm not sure where she got this Phantom style facemask, but it was pretty cool. I also love her red hair:

And yes, that's the same red bra as previous. We did finally switch outfits when I wanted to try out the excellent metal-footplate backdrop; here it is again:

It's only a vinyl backdrop, but it works really well. Naturally I had to try Nitr0gene in front of it:

And again she had changed hair. One of the fun parts of working with Nitr0gene is that she can totally change her image; no more thinking, "Great, but I wanted blonde."

Speaking of which, that wig was a nice silver/white colour, which could be coerced into mixing with another of the fantastic hair pieces:

You may recognise that background from the wallpaper madness I had with Ethel Hallow.

So there we go - eight pictures from another successful day. That's not all of them either - I still have a batch to edit in varying styles. But they can wait for another day.

I'm not sure what the next shoot is now. There's a few things in planning, sadly one of which has lost its makeup artist. Still, it's nice to have a few ideas kicking about. Here's hoping not to drop any more cameras.
