When first watching this film I thought it was some kind of joke. Now that you have asked the question do I think the characters are stereotypical I really have put some thought into it. I am going to have to yes! Lets start with the taxman. First off when I think tax I think someone that a)I would never go on a date with and b)someone who is really good at math. So when the movie first began you see him doing everything in order from the time he layed down at 11:13 to the number of time he strokes his toothbrush. At the end of everyday he would do everything alone and was this single old lame tax man. Next is the writer she was suffering from writers block and in most cases I think of a writer as being someone who is a heavy drinker and is all about work. One who dies alone because of her lack of time she has to spare. Again I was correct he smoked a lot of cigarettes and couldn’t figure out what to write about so she would do crazy things to get her juices flowing. For example she sat at the side of the rode in the rain imaging car wrecks. She had a very well thought out vocabulary. The definition of conformist is one who goes against someone or something to prove a point. Most of the time it is law related issues. She wouldn’t conform to paying all 100% of her taxes no matter what the cost was she was not changing her mind of the issues she felt strongly about. Last on the list was the college professor. You imagine a professor as being scary only out to make you life horrible. Someone you would never miss there class because you knew they wouldn’t help you without trying to get in your personal life. This seemed the most difficult because I was wrong about him he took time out his day to really help this guy. Although some of methods were outrageous it was the fact that he help a complete stranger.
