I can't even tell you what a crazy couple of weeks it has been. I would love to go in to all kinds of detail, but the story I am about to tell should some up how things have been running lately for me. The story is completely true.
Some of you may remember that I was in Canada the first weekend of November keynoting a conference. I checked out on a Sunday and headed back to the United States. Fast forward to yesterday.
I received a call from a Constable working for the Calgary Police Service. He had a few questions for me regarding my stay. After asking me a few basic questions, he dropped the bomb. Someone impersonated me after I left my hotel, checked back in, racked up $3000 worth of room charges, smoked cracked and other substances in the hotel room, left paraphenalia behind, and then fled when confronted by hotel staff. Following the incident, the hotel decided to charge my credit card.... that is until I spoke with the hotel and my credit card company. The problem is being resolved, by the authorities and my money has been refunded.
Who knew?! I'm still in shock. This event seems to represent what's been going on in my life lately. Good thing I have a nice break coming up. I need it.
