Deadlands Reloaded: South of the Border
(Link on picture leads to Studio 2 store entry. I didn't do the cover art.) The folks at
Pinnacle just put out a supplement for Deadlands Reloaded - a "trail guide" that consists of plot hooks, mini-adventures, new monsters and NPCs, and a short campaign or two, in "Explorer's Edition" size. I got called in to do some emergency filler art, because I'm guessing the original artist wasn't able to make it in time. (I'm pretty comfortable with the quality of my color work for figure flats ... not so much for full-sized illustrations, let alone cover art. At least I can work fairly quickly for the most part when I have a rough idea of what I'm doing.)
This is only temporary, but here are some preview pictures of my workfiles as samples. That "pose" book that Moonwolf/Playful_Eye recommended to me a while ago turned out to be handy as a reference for these pictures (below).
In other news: Wonderland No More layout is still progressing. I've also been learning that a few things I've been doing with layout were "the hard way," so a bit of unlearning is in order.
I'm officially signed up for two games at Necronomicon Game Day (July 17th) now. I'm using round tables - not my usual "medium" - so I'm going to have to plan things out a little more thoroughly ahead of time at home ... and make sure any map tiles fit within the actual table space I'll have available - about 6' diameter, at a table seating up to 8 people.
