Last night? Crazy. Crazy in the sense that drinks were flying left and right and the customers at Willy's were gettin' soaked. Also crazy in the fact that I left with Heather and this other guy Stefan. Not that I'm regrettin' anything ( Read more... )

I run into the apartment because what do ya know, it's raining again. After sprinting home and getting soaked I take off my shoes and leave em' by the door. Turning, I spot Jordan on the couch, a Jordan who's actually home. "Hey! You've been all with the missing."

I was snoozing actually, and I slowly open my eyes, rubbing them a bit as Jenny comes into focus. My open beer bottle is on the coffee table, looks like I dozed off without finishing it. "Wha? Oh. Yeah." She's obviously in a good mood, don't know why.

I nod and grab a big hoodie sweatshirt from my pile of clothes, throwing it over my head. I shiver a little and shove my hands in the pockets. "So where were you?" I'm guessing the Bronze or some other bar, but there's no harm in conversation. "With friends?" I grin a little and grab a twizzler from an open bag nearby. There's a pack of cigarettes next to it and I have to stop myself from instantly taking one.

I sigh, getting a look of annoyance on my face. "What are we playin' here? Twenty questions?" I ask. "Yeah, I was out with the big kids. What's it to you?" I shake my head and see her take some candy, remembering my pack of smokes are next to it. I reach behind me and grab it, removing one and soon after lighting it.

My grin falls. "I...I don't know, I've just missed you is all. You're always out drinking." I look away, humbled for a moment. My eyes turn to his guitar bag on the floor. I'm pretty sure he hasn't touched it lately. Not like him.

"And so were you not too long ago, remember?" I snort back at her. "It's not your business what I do with my spare time, I don't care how much you 'miss' me. You're lucky enough I haven't kicked your ass out of here by now." I laugh and puff out a cloud of smoke.

"What?" I manage to say, even more confused. What's his deal? "Jor, you okay?" Weird, he seemed fine before and now he's all mister i've-got-something-shoved-up-my-ass.

"Me? I'm fine, Jen. I'm just tellin' you the truth...you don't do nothin' but spend the little bit of cash I get now, and if it's not gonna' stop then I'm hoppin' you back on a bus to Mom and Dad." She's looking surprised, like she didn't see this coming. Fuck, what'd she think?

What is this? He wants me to get a job? I can't do that. I've got things...to do. Like enjoy my life and watch Taffy get dumped! I'm thinkin' this thing Miss Vargas did is starting to wear out. "No, Jor, you can't -"

I'm starting to do that thing where I glare at her. She's obviously not getting my point, and to make it clear I find myself sending a pretty hard slap to the side of her face. "Do not tell me what to do, Jennifer. You can either earn your part in living here or just go the fuck home."

My eyes widen and I stand, the palm of my hand reaching up to touch where he slapped me. I wince a little, but I'm determined not to cry. I'm starting to get what it felt like back when I punched him. "I'm gonna go." I can still hear the sound of rain, but I don't care. I can't stay here right now.

I lean back onto the couch, laughing just a little. "Fine. Go find a job while you're at it. Oh wait, I don't who's going to hire a juvenile delinquent. So good luck." I bang the cigarette against the ash tray on the coffee table before closing my eyes again.

I scowl at him before exiting the apartment and slamming the door shut. I put my hood up and run down the stairs, taking them two at a time and speeding down the block as far as I can, knowing where I'm going. Stepping onto the wet grounds of the park, I sit down on the swings and slowly rock back and forth, crying silently as I bury my face into my hands.

I have to find Miss Vargas at school and ask her to reverse this as soon as possible.
