I've been working hard lately, trying to play at places temporarily to see if I can make back some of the money Jenny took. School is going okay, no more posessed kids is always a good thing. The school year's almost over anyways, and once again, it will be summer ( Read more... )

I smile a little, it just feels nice to be here again. I gently kiss the top of her head. "I've missed you too." I say afterwards.

I'm not lying. Truthfully, I'm sick and tired of having to deal with my sister and her crazy stunts. Here is good. I'm afraid when it's time to leave I won't be able to.

I realize that my arms being held hostage as we make our way up the steps, and I just grin at her. "So am I. Yeah, there's the whole Jenny issue to worry about...but right now I've got a girlfriend I'm standing a foot away from, so my mind's kinda focused on that, y'know?"

I raise an eyebrow at the sudden wind in the room. "Of course." I tell her, reassuringly. "That would be really good, I need time to just...relax, get my brain to stop thinking so loud for a little while." I notice the blanket she moved, and I give it an odd look before turning back to her. "Been sleeping on the couch lately?"

"Oh..." I say, thinking about that. He, him, his. Oh. I try to shun the thought from my already too noisy head and answer her question. "Just more sister stuff. Did you hear about the video store?" I ask her, relaxing deeper into the couch and leaning back a little more.

"No, nothing like that," I tell her. "She just got drunk with some guys and decided vandalizing the nearest video store was her new favorite hobby. Not to mention the whole 'stole my money and bought a trunkload of drugs' thing." I try to talk to her, I do, but my eyes keep falling to the blanket and the the guy's random stuff scattered about.

"...He's a good guy? This person? Male person? On the couch?" I ask apprehensively.

I just nod, satisfied with that. I knew it wasn't anything, but still, I'm just being well, precautious I suppose. "That's you. Always helping people," I tell her with a smile. "But yeah...I think Jenny's doing okay. She and I aren't exactly buddy buddy, but still, it's better than her out somewhere all wasted and doing god knows what."

I think about that before answering. How am I? I put my arm around her and pull her closer to me, sort of needing her there. "I'm...tired." I finally respond. "I'm tired of not being able to do this with you more often, and I'm tired of running around, trying to act like the responsible one. I'm only twenty five, and I'm already raising a sixteen year old. I just...I didn't think when I let her in. I just thought everything would be okay when it's really turning out to be a nightmare."

I turn to her and smirk a little. "Nuh uh, can't. She took a lot of money, I've gotta' get it all back. I've been playing a little at the Expresso Pump..." I sigh, slightly exhausted. "Though a day off would be fantastic."
