Quatre Raberba Winner; Arrival at Oxford.

Feb 04, 2008 18:48

He wasn't sure where he was. He could only gather so much information about his surroundings by looking around. It was Earth. But this wasn't the Earth he was familiar with. It was... so different. It reminded him of pictures of the past he'd seen in old books. It lead him to believe he'd somehow ended up in the past. Poor Quatre was entirely ( Read more... )

Upon approaching the college, Wufei did a double take. Quatre Winner was here? How could this be? Did this mean that the other pilots had arrived here too? Were they all in the same predicament? He noted the feline companion he had as well.
"I suppose fate has brought us here," Wufei greeted. His own deamon sat beside him appearing to be aloof, but keeping a keen eye on the two new people.

He was content, for now, thinking and enjoying the scenery. With this new place, new environment, it certainly gave him enough to think about. Brienne was content with laying out on the cement step, in the glow of the setting sun.

What was he to do, here? Was there a purpose for his sudden arrival? There must have been. It was too strange to have just appeared on his own, he thought. Hm.

He heard the others words, and he couldn't help but blink. That voice... It was so familiar. Quatre turned his head, and a soft smile crossed his lips when he saw Wufei standing there. Brienne rolled over fast, looking up at him with a weary look before she realized Quatre knew this man. She settled back down, though not as lazily as she had previously been.

"I suppose it is, Wufei." He held a hand out politely. "It's nice to see you again. It's been a while."

Wufei inclined his head in agreement. He preferred to not get attached to people. However, Quatre was a fellow pilot and someone he had come to respect. He enjoyed the other's preseence and was glad to see a familiar face. He sat down beside Quatre and scratched behind Ming's ears, who let out a purr of content. It was a while before he spoke.

"I believe we should keep an eye out for the rest of the pilots. I don't think it's a coincidence that we are both here. Yet, I do not know what our purpose is."

Quatre smiled. He expected no more from Wufei. He'd obviously not changed much since the war, and their last meetings. He sat himself down on the steps once more. "Yes... That's a good idea. I wouldn't be surprised if any others were here." He hoped they were, but he also kind of hoped they weren't. He didn't want them to be subjected to a strange world, but at the same time, he hadn't seen them in a long time. He had conflicting feelings about that.

Brienne stood once more, moving around Wufei and Ming, as though sizing them up. Though she was much smaller then the Ocelot, who was probably more ferocious and a much better hunter than she, a mere domesticated house cat. She finally settled on the space beside Quatre on the same step he was seated on, but she turned her attention elsewhere, finally.

Quatre lifted a hand to gently pet the felines' head. "This place is so... fantasy-like, though. I keep thinking maybe.. I'm dreaming," He mused.

"The thoughts crossed my mind as well. I'm not exactly sure what to make of this place... It is good to be with someone I can trust."
Wufei looked away and studied the area more carefully. It was diffently cold here. He was going to have to obtain a warmer outfit or a thicker coat. He was used to dealing with a warmer climate. He also wasn't sure what type of currency this world took. This could be a problem.

Quatre nodded in agreement. "Yes. I suppose it's better to be with company in a situation like this than alone." Brienne, still beside him, seemed to take offense to this. She bit his hand, and he let out a small sound and quickly pulled his hand back.

He rubbed the throbbing flesh, before he turned his head to look out at the scenery. "This place reminds me of England in old days. Decades, maybe even centuries ago... Long before the colonies." He wondered if it really was the England he was speaking of. Hm. "I've read a book on history, and the pictures... It's like I'm looking at them, now." Of course, with differences -- but the architecture was much the same.

"Looks like you offended her," Wufei commented. He really hoped that his daemon didn't get so easily offended... If this was a prehistorical England, he wasn't going to enjoy the lack of technology. He could handle it, but it was going to be an extreme change for him.
"I'm going to explore inside this college. Hopefully this will be a warmer inside."
His daemon got up and stretched as Wufei stepped inside the building.

Quatre smiled a little. "I didn't mean to." He looked down at Brienne, who seemed to have gotten over it, and was laying out again. The Arabian boy turned his head to look at Wufei as he stood.

"Alright," He nodded softly. "I think I'm going to stay out here." The blond turned his head to look over the buildings. He could get used to this. With some effort, but he could, ultimately. "See you later, Wufei."
