In a statement, Saddam's lawyers said that in the aftermath of his death, "the world will know that Saddam Hussein lived honestly, died honestly, and maintained his principles."
Now, I don't see how that was possible. Unless maybe there were mice in his cell. He could have captured them, bred them, and then tortured some of them to death in the presence of their relatives.
Yeah, that would have "maintained his principles."
