Brooklyn Mosque Even More Sinister Than I Thought

Here's the article by Bos Smith regarding the Masjid At-Taqwa and its mad imam, Siraj Wahaj. And it's worse than I thought:

The place has played host to a number of notorious exponents of radical Islam, including Clement Rodney Hampton-El (Dr. Rashid), a key player in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Mr. Hampton-El is presently cooling his heels in a federal slammer since he was found guilty of seditious conspiracy. Mr. Hampton-El, who was born and raised in Brooklyn, fought as a mujahadeen under Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in the holy war against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

Upon his return, Hampton-El was hailed as a hero by members of the mosque.

...

Hampton-El is currently serving thirty-five years in a supermax prison for America’s most dangerous inmates.

That's right. One of the alumni of this mosque is one of the people who tried to take down the World Trade Center in 1993. And, though Bos doesn't mention this, this is the same gang who assassinated Meir Kahane in Manhattan in 1990 ... his assassin, El Said Nosair, was acquitted after an obviously-rigged trial and then went on to join "Hampton-El" in the 1993 attack on the WTC.

These guys are connected to Al-Qaeda, for Athena's sweet sake, and they are operating freely in the city Al-Qaeda attacked TWICE.

It gets even more surreal, and scary:

But what of Wahaj? Is he an exponent of radical Islam - a man who poses a threat to millions of Americans?

He is a well-known and welcome figure in Washington DC. He was the first Muslim cleric to offer the invocation at the opening session of Congress. He has dined with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and serves on the boards of no less than five major Muslim organizations. He has received commendations from the Brooklyn police for eradicating crime from the Bedford-Stuyvesant area. In 2003, Siraj Wahaj Day was celebrated in Brooklyn in recognition of what one borough official called a “lifetime of outstanding and meaningful achievement.

... and now we know why we haven't heard of any arrests, or even a complaint made in the case. This guy is friendly with the New York City government.

Are they insane? Quite aside from the obvious threat to public order, don't they realize that 9-11 was the worst economic disaster to hit the city since the Lindsay mayoral Administration? They should be using this incident as an excuse to take Wahaj down -- instead, they are giving him commendations!

And note what they gave him a commendation for -- "eradicating crime from the Bedford-Stuyvesant area." Hmm, could that have something to do with his suspiciously large, well-organized, and ... um ... pro-active security force?

Bos Smith makes the same point that I did:

What is taking place within Masjid At-Taqwa?

Given Wahaj's obvious terrorist affiliations (described in much more detail in the original article), and the following statement:

"If we are united and strong,” he said, “we’d elect our own emir [leader] and give allegiance to him. Take my word for it, if six to eight million Muslims united in America, the country will come to us.”

... I don't think I'm being at all "paranoid" in fearing that the man is stockpiling weapons in that mosque. He's freaking threatening armed rebellion, and all the government can do is pat him on the head for "eradicating crime?"

What is happening in my old city?

new york, siraj wahaj, islamofascism, terror, brooklyn
