Anyone heard how Jay Z is quietly (well, not anymore) posting bail for some of the protesters in Baltimore and other places? If it is true, that sure is a hearty stamp of approval for these blacks who already felt entitled and justified to commit crimes.

I saw this headline, but I didn't want to click on the actual story. It will make me want to punch things.

Of course! They're perpetual victims, dontcha know? Always oppressed, suppressed and depressed by Whitey. The mentality is, "You OWE us."

It's all excused because, SLAVERY!

It's a shame they are going to go through life being asses rather than assets to society. Just burdens. Big babies we have to carry around. Big babies who resent us and want us dead. If all white people died and they owned the world they would utterly destroy it in no time and still blame us!

It's time that educated blacks who disagree with thug mentality to step up and take a hold of their people. There is no way we can reach them, no way. But I fear they won't even listen to them either. I got into it on twitter with one of them. When I mentioned Oprah, he balked saying Oprah was "not black anymore" that she had "turned her back on the black people". Can you believe it? How do you answer that?

[insert eye rolling here]

Did he explain why and what he meant by that? Is it because she's so rich and successful? I'm certainly no fan of hers. But I can at least appreciate all that she's overcome to get where she is. She had a terrible childhood/upbringing. Born in poverty, all kinds of family problems, abuse, etc. You'd think a person who has overcome all of this would be admired in the black community.

I swear, I don't understand that mentality!

I don't understand it either. I think it's just the way she made her money. In other words, she isn't black enough. She's not a thug. Nothing will ever be good enough for these people.

This is of course a way of ensuring that "blacks can't succeed in American society." If they succeed, they are then termed not "authentically black" -- unless they succeed in sports or entertainment. And only certain sorts of sports and entertainment, at that.

So true! They make it so hard for themselves and their people! It seems they don't really want to succeed because that might mean hard work. Easier to sit on your hind end and complain how society has done you wrong and expect compensation for it.

No, I don't recall that he answered the question directly. I think he just assumed it was obvious that Oprah was no longer "black enough" because she has become so successful without being a thug or a rap star. One thing's for sure, I don't think he gave it any thought at all. Just a knee-jerk reaction.
