Muslim terrorist holds 40-50 people prisoner in Sydney chocolate shop

Dec 14, 2014 22:35

According to Fox News, 3 people escaped the gunman.  He apparently forced several people inside the shop to hold up a black flag with the Arabic word "There is no god but Allah and Muhammed is his  Prophet" -- the famous Shitheada, or Declaration of Insanity that all Muslims learn to bleat ( Read more... )

just read @ LJ-user (in Sydney), listening to local radio: police identified the terrorist as Iranian origin, former shiite who got disappointed in shia principles and turned to salafism.
I guess if they know so much detail of him he's known (or has been known for some time)

PS.
oh, I see, this is even better:
"Police have authorised the naming of ‘Sheik’ Man Haron Monis, who is a self-styled preacher of Islamic State on bail for accessory to murder, as the gunman who was holding 15 terrified hostages in Sydney’s Lindt cafe.
Haron was also charged this year with indecent and sexual assault of women in 2002. Monis was hit with an additional 40 charges in October."

So this maniac has been on bail! And known to be a loony jihadist, escalating since 2002.

Trust the state "protectors"...

Yep. He was a repeat offender, and in a combination of ways which should have been setting off alarm bells (Islamist and violent).

That's the really aggravating part about this mess! I suppose you could say Thanks to idiotic P.C. policies and the fear of islamophobia for causing the death of more innocent people.

on another AU TV news site they already gathered "counter-terrorist experts" and the choir proclaims that was a "lone wolf attack".
What should happen to make these idiots learn?

They gotta at least connect the dots to see that ISIS is urging Muslims in the west to become lone wolf attackers. Will they? Probably not.

I am astonished that he was allowed to walk around free with so many charges piled on him including accessory to murder. What they hell?

On my FB list, a lefty is telling an upset Aussie on there that he should not be so upset as to change any laws regarding sentencing or holding violent inmates/people since they don't want to be like the USA with long jail sentences. Right. Meanwhile this guy terrorizes people. People have got to have their heads examined.

Thankfully the guy from Australia had more sense than the lefty loon from here and is standing his ground. This is not rocket science! This guy is violent, put him in jail!

apparently, he was an accessory to murder of his ex-wife.
sounds like he was the one ordering it. and they let him walk free on bail?! unbelievable.

It's a "lone wolf attack" solely in that the man may not have been formally linked to any Muslim terrorist organization. However, he was very obviously a strong Islamist sympathizer, and showed himself to be extremely violent on previous occasions. He should not have been allowed to run around free.

He's a muslim, he gets a pass. Don't want to offend the muzzies after all.

*cough* Rotherham *cough*

What I find most theoretically interesting about these cases is the difficulty of balancing general democratic ideals of treating everyone equally and as individuals, against rather obvious trends in group behavior.

And whether we are talking about a "lone wolf" or a group, it's still a problem if a whole group of uncoordinated people spontaneously attack people around them.

they characterize it as "lone wolf" to pacify the public, as in "no worries, this is not a full-blown war on our own soil, it's just some one isolated loon's acting all by himself".
when in reality that's exactly what's happening.
20 years ago, at a Oath Ceremony I looked around me in the huge courtroom and thought: oh my, what are you doing, why you're granting this treasure, the American citizenship, to all these medieval savages? there will be so much grief ahead.
I wish I had been wrong.

Most of my friends are immigrants or the children of immigrants. If someone has come up with an effective way to sort good folks from murderous psychos, I'd suggest we start using it.

ETA: You don't need a formal organization if you already have a system of cultural beliefs that get people to act in specific ways. That's the thing people have such trouble wrapping their heads around.

"system of cultural beliefs" is too careful an expression; islam is an ideology, not a folk dance association.
