Obama Backed Violent Pro-Shari'a Politician in Kenya
This is a complex story, but I urge everyone who cares about the current massacre in Nairobi to follow the thread of this tale ....
Obama and his proclaimed ally Odinga
Researching the Nairobi Mall Massacre, I found to my amazement that Barack Hussein Obama, aka the Lightworker and Obamessiah, personally intervened in Kenyan politics in an attempt to help a violent Kenyan politician, Raila Odinga, win the Kenyan presidential elections in 2007 and 2013. Obama's aid to Odinga included personal appearances by first Senator and then President Obama, and the contribution of hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash from private funds.
The reason why this is significant is that Odinga, though raised Anglican and purportedly a born-again Christian, is strongly pro-Muslim. He campaigned on a platform which included the imposition of shari'a in Kenya and the severing of all Kenyan ties to Israel. As described by Pamela Geller in "Obama Pushed/Bankrolled/Implements Sharia Law in New Constitution in Kenya, Non-Muslim Country," Aug 7th 2010 from Atlas Shrugged:
Odinga signed, on August 29th 2007, a Memorandum of Understanding with Sheikh Abdullah Abdi, Chairman of the National Muslim Leaders' Forum, in which Odinga promised -- in a majority-Christian State -- to:
“within six months” to “rewrite the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Sharia as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions.” Odinga, according to the Memorandum, would recognize “Islam as the only true religion” and give Islamic leaders an “oversight role to monitor activities of ALL other religions.” Christian preaching, alcohol and pork would be banned.
Odinga claimed that the Memorandum was forged. Keep on reading to find out why Odinga was almost-certainly lying.
Fortunately for Kenya, President Kibaki was re-elected in 2007. Odinga's response to this?
Amid widespread charges that Kibaki had stolen the election, Odinga supporters staged bloody reprisals, killing 700 and displacing 250,000 within a month after the election. By the middle of February 2008, just over six weeks after the election, the death toll had risen to 1,500, with 500,000 homeless. 200 people were burned alive when Odinga supporters torched a church in which they had taken refuge.
Among the atrocities committed by Odinga's supporters, was gang rape, including the gang-rape of little children. According to Adrian Bloomfield of the Telegraph:
Hundreds of women and children, including boys as young as five, have been gang-raped in a wave of sexual violence that has swept Kenya in the aftermath of last week's disputed presidential election.
(bolded emphasis mine).
Wow ... you know, if Obama had a son, that could have been ...
... but I digress.
Most were members of President Mwai Kibaki's Kikuyu tribe, attacked in Nairobi's slums by other ethnic groups who support Raila Odinga, his Luo challenger.
The mobs had smashed their way into their homes, the women told doctors. Attacking everyone they found inside with machetes and clubs, the youths raped them in front of their husbands, some of whom were later killed.
Aid workers said they had received reports of similar attacks across the country, although no statistics are available.
President Kibaki made a serious error in response to this crisis:
... in an attempt to quell the rioting and murder, Kibaki named Odinga prime minister - in which role Odinga realized a longstanding dream of his friend, supporter, and possible relative Barack Obama: in February 2009, he met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Coming back from this meeting, Prime Minister Odinga approved a "controversial" new Constitution that partially-implemented Shari'a law in Kenya, in particular legalizing Muslim khadi courts.
In December 2010, Prime Minister Odinga ordered "a nationwide crackdown on homosexuals in Kenya":
Mr Odinga on Sunday said that police should arrest anyone found engaging in such behaviours and take appropriate legal action against them.
"We will not tolerate such behaviours in the country. The constitution is very clear on this issue and men or women found engaging in homosexuality will not be spared," Mr Odinga said.
"Any man found engaging in sexual activities with another man should be arrested. Even women found engaging in sexual activities will be arrested," the premier warned....
"This [homosexual] kind of behaviours will not be tolerated in this country. Men or women found engaging in those acts deserve to be arrested and will be arrested," he told the crowd....
Presumably the arrested did not include Odinga's own supporters, who were merely-engaging in a manly sort of amusement by gang-raping five-year-old boys.
In April 2013, Odinga lost a second Presidential election -- this time to Uhuru Kenyatta -- and flew to South Africa to avoid attending the inauguration. This loss also meant the end of Odinga's term as Prime Minister.
Despite -- or perhaps because of -- the new pro-Muslim constitution, the Muslim violence in Kenya has only escalated , as documented in "Kenya's Killing Fields," a series of articles posted by Pamela Geller. There has been a steady stream of Muslim terrorist attacks against Kenya, including repeated incidents of grenades being chucked into civilian crowds.
And so we arrive at the present atrocity. According to Haaretz, "Death toll reaches 68: Assault to end Kenya mall siege has begun, official says":
Kenyan security forces launched a "major" assault late Sunday on the upscale Nairobi mall where an unknown number of hostages are being held by al-Qaida-linked militants, in an operation officials said would end the two-day standoff that had already killed 68 people.
...
Somalia's al-Qaida-linked rebel group, al-Shabab, claimed responsibility for the attack that specifically targeted non-Muslims. The attackers included some women.
Al-Shabab, an arm of Al Qaeda says their motive for the attack was ... but who cares what they said? The true motive for the attack is that al-Shabab likes to kill people, because they are evil, and the only way to prevent such future attacks is to kill as many members of Al-Shabab as possible. And it's best that we ignore Terrorist claims about their motives, because focusing on these only tempts us to yield, and distracts us from the absolute necessity that the Terrorists be destroyed.
Obama has reportedly phoned President Kenyatta to "express condolences" for the attack. The Israelis have provided more meanngful support
An Israeli security source said earlier Sunday that Israeli advisers were helping Kenya formulate a strategy to end the siege at the upscale shopping center, which is partly owned by Israelis.
"There are Israeli advisers helping with the negotiating strategy, but no Israelis involved in any imminent storming operation," said the source, who declined to be identified.
The source said only a "handful" of Israelis, "purely in an advisory role," were on scene at the mall, which has several Israeli-owned outlets and is frequented by expatriates and Kenyans.
As I type this, the Kenyan military is storming the Westgate Shopping Mall, killing the last of the Terrorists within, and restoring order. We still don't know how many hostages have been killed.
Let us mourn the dead, and hope that the Kenyan Army exacts such a revenge for this on Somalia that the Somalians will long rue the day they decided to murder Kenyan civilians. And let us also hope that this attack marks the beginning of the end of Rail Odinga's political career -- and of Kenyan toleration of Islam.
