According to Powerline, "The Marine Corps Involvement in Egypt and Libya,"

In Libya, the Corps says that no Marines are stationed at the Embassy in Tripoli or the Consulate in Benghazi. Security in Libya, such as it existed, apparently was provided by contractors. The Rules of Engagement under which they operated are unclear.

I'm thinking that Obama is providing the whole country with an object lesson on just that topic, right now. And conveniently doing so right before the Presidential elections.

If America can't vote him out under such perfect circumstances, we may be headed toward decline, and not just as a Republic.

Just for the record, I don't oppose the welfare state, but I still think that Obama has been a lousy president. One, for carrying on Ben Bernanke's inflationary policies. Two, for the assault on freedom of religion. Three, for his and Eric Holder's disgusting habit of ignoring or breaking laws they don't like. Four, for his catastrophic foreign policy. Five, for breaking his promises about torture (I know this may be controversial). Six, for the amateurish mentality behind stunts like Fast and Furious. Seven, for the presence of obvious fanatics and sadists in the administration. (Who was the moron who said that Roman policy was to go somewhere and immediately crucify five people at random? Aside from the ignorance - Roman policy was more like going somewhere and immediately make five friends at random - this shows the kind of mind that no sane job interviewer would let within half a mile of any position of even moderate power.)
