Steve Jobs (1955-2011) helped turn the personal computer from barely-even-science-fiction (most science fiction writers failed to predict it, instead assuming that we would remain forever bound to huge centralized mainframes) to everyday appliances that connect us to the collective knowledge of the entire world, and let everyone in turn contribute to this collective knowledge with ease. While he's not solely responsible for this change, he's one of those who was most responsible for it. His name will be remembered in the histories of our era, when the names of many less important men and women have become obscure, retrievable to the common person only because of Jobs' invention.
Rest well in the Transcendence. You've earned it.
