The Sorrows of the _Rachel Corrie_

Jun 05, 2010 10:00

Mourn, O Ireland! For the heroic ship Rachel Corrie, which tried to run the blockade imposed by the Evil Jews on the poor peaceful suicide-bombing rocket-firing goodmen of Gaza, has fallen into their vile Hebrew hands. O, for the shame and indignity!

As sung by the bard Amy Teibel, in the harping-halls of the Clan AP ("Despite pressure, Israeli PM firm on Gaza blockade," http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100605/ap_on_re_mi_ea/gaza_blockade).

Israeli forces seized a Gaza-bound aid vessel swiftly and without meeting resistance on Saturday, preventing it from breaking a naval blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory days after a similar effort turned bloody.

But how were the heroes led by their bold Captain Eric Harcis the Scot, overcome? Surely some foul treachery of the Orient weakened their limbs, made their sword-hands falter, loosened their bowstrings?

Ron Ben-Yishai, one of the many minions of the vile Dark Lord Netanyahu (he who long ago stole the Golden Cauldron which makes new money out of dead assets, through the evil power of hard and intelligent work), gloated, rubbing his greasy Jewish hands together, and strumming the black harp YNet, in the mocking poem entitled "Takeover ended in 5 minutes" (http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3899298,00.html)

Just five minutes - this is the estimated time it took Israel's Navy to commandeer the Rachel Corrie Ship en route to the Gaza Strip.

Black sorcery indeed! But how did this happen?

The raid got underway with the vessel roughly 23 miles west of the Gaza shore, right on the boundary of the naval blockade imposed on the strip.

Say it not! But they were almost in sight of the fabled city of Gaza, their keen-eyed lookout Radar already caressing its wharf with the tendrils of low-frequency electromagnetism! O, truly this is tragic!

The decision to take over the vessel was taken roughly at 12 pm, when it became clear that the ship had no intention of complying with the Navy's messages and turn to the Ashded port for an inspection.

As if bold heroes would give way to the threats of Hebrew cowards! But what then?

The vessel's captain was informed that Navy soldiers will board the ship in line with international law and without using force, and that the IDF expected personnel on the ship to behave similarly.

Ai, I perceive their villainy. The Corsairs of Ashdod were offering not to hurt them! Truly a foul embassy!

The captain made it clear to the forces he had no intention to offer violent resistance. He gathered the 11 passengers and crewmembers on the ship's deck, where they peacefully waited for the Navy's boats.

Ah, a cunning ploy by the war-crafty Scot! What did he intend?

The Navy dispatched three missile boats to the area, as well as several patrol vessels which have been accompanying the Rachel Corrie since Friday. Additional missile boats were deployed in case the operation turned violent.

The fell forces massed, thirsting for the blood of the valiant!

Shortly before 12:30, two missile boats reached the Rachel Corrie carrying about 20 combat soldiers, including four female fighters belonging to the Navy's special security unit, in charge of securing ports and vessels. The females were brought in so that they personally handle the females on board, including Nobel Prize Laureate Mairead Maguire.

No! To use women against the bold heroes, counting on their noble restraint! Truly, the Hebrew is cunning and evil!

The fighters boarded the ship using rope ladders without facing any resistance, explained their demands to the captain, and ensured they were being met.

Oh. Hmmm. Well. I'm sure there actually was a valiant shield-wall, broken only by black sorcery and the attacks of hammer-wielding giant war-trolls. Or something like that. Because, y'know, if it went the way it was just described, this was all kind of routine. No drama.

And, um, they took the Corrie to Ashdod. End of story.

Um ... into the West. We all sink into the West. Fimbulwinter, Ragnarok, and the New World Rising, or something like that. And I'm sure that Captain Eric Harcis the Scot will commit suicide, maybe by beating his head against a rock. Yeah.

Damn, what a let-down. ;-)

What this highlights is that Netanyahu is not letting himself be deterred by theatrical violence backed up by addle-pated "world opinion." The blockade stands, and the Gazans remain without their chocolate, coriander, artillery rockets and other delicacies.

The End.
