This apparently trivial story conceals a deeper problem.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/4623148/Barack-Obama-sends-bust-of-Winston-Churchill-on-its-way-back-to-Britain.html As you may or may not know (most people probably don't) President Obama sent back a bust of Winston Churchill which had been on loan from the British since 2001. One reason was that Obama prefers to keep a bust of Lincoln there. The other reason is considerably darker.
Churchill has less happy connotations for Mr Obama than those American politicians who celebrate his wartime leadership. It was during Churchill's second premiership that Britain suppressed Kenya's Mau Mau rebellion. Among Kenyans allegedly tortured by the colonial regime included one Hussein Onyango Obama, the President's grandfather.
Now, the Mau-Maus were a terrorist organization, one of the worst to ever darken this planet. They routinely murdered civilians, often slowly and with rape, torture and extreme mutilation. If Obama has anything but loathing for them, in knowledge of what they did, he is simply evil.
A kinder interpretation is that he is ignorant of their true nature, and sentimentally on their side because of a grandfather whom he may have remembered as kindly, not grasping the nature of the man's former actions.
In any case, this is worrisome -- is Obama going to tilt against the English to avenge his own evil heritage? And does he, in part, reject Churchill's lessons for civilization because Obama's own grandfather was on the side of the Terrorists 50 years ago?
