Off to Edinburgh

Aug 13, 2011 22:02

I've never been to Scotland, and I'd hoped the first time I'd go would be with Dan. But due to various complex and not-that-interesting circumstances, I'm off to the Fringe tomorrow! Even better, I'm not paying for any of my transport or accommodation -- hurrah! I'll still have to pay for food, drink and shows, but at least a major chunk has been taken off my expenditure (the benefits of being part of a theatre company!)

I'm relatively packed, but there're things that I won't be able to sort until the morning. My train is at 8.55 from Kings Cross, so it's gonna be an early one. It's nearly bedtime, methinks, as I want to be in a decent state tomorrow.

The last week of rehearsals has been good fun. Even though I'm extremely unlikely to actually get to perform (the joy of understudying), I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to work on two different characters and to be keeping in practice. It's really encouraging to see how last year's graduates have improved and upped their games. It makes me hopeful for the future.

In other news, I'm REALLY enjoying Torchwood! It's one of the only things I watch at the moment that gives me a genuine gut reaction (Grey's Anatomy is different -- it just makes me cry). Anyway, time to dry hair and get to bed. Hardcore.
