The stats work that's been kicking my arse has finally been beaten. I had the mother of all stats lectures today (no one understood *a word* of what was going on) and I haven't even progressed on to advanced stats 2 yet... oh the joy.
Anyway, the homework we were set involved interactions between orthogonal contrasts (yeah, I know -- WTF?), which I have never had any experience with in my life. Luckily, we've got access to old sample questions with model answers provided, so I was able to work my way through those in order to teach myself whatever the Hell it was I was supposed to be doing. So, ten hours later (I started at 3.30 this afternoon and it's now nearly 1.30am... although I did have a rehearsal tonight so it's probably closer to eight hours) and I've managed to complete all the analyses for the assignment. Haven't written anything up yet and I'll double-check my work in the morning but I'm pretty confident that I've done the right thing... I think! I'm ok so long as I'm running the analyses on repeated-measures data -- if it's independent or mixed then I'm pretty much screwed! Bloody SPSS!
Ok, tired now. Am shaking with tiredness and relief at getting this done (I've got a Hell of a lot of other work to do before Friday so I didn't want this hanging over me).
Zzzzzz...
