bleh...
So... first day of grad school... no actual work has been done as yet but it's early days!
I was in a foul mood earlier because of 1) the weather (it's bloody horrible); 2) the annoyance that I've paid £3675 for the privilege of doing this masters degree, and all I've done so far is attend generic lectures on computer use and plagerism; and 3) the trains -- they've done nothing but let me down so far. Grrrr! Anyway, with reference to my earlier concern that my course would be full of weirdos: it was completely unfounded. Virtually everyone has come straight from undergrad and (as
immunogrl has said), the only way you can tell a postgrad from an undergrad is because the former seem to wear less makeup and don't care about their hair.
Evening: Went to see Punt and Denis doing "Stuff and Nonsense" (new stand-up tour) at the Brewhouse. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. The show was completely sold out and by the end the whole audience were almost crying with laughter. I won't even try to explain how or why it was funny because it cannot work out of context. Regardless, I think I needed to have a good laugh and I feel a lot better for it.
