I think I had a hypnagogic hallucination last night. It's when you're just about to fall asleep. I've had them before, a few times I've woken up quickly after falling asleep, and I jolt awake with my heart racing and a deep sense of dread that I can't find a reason for. Or I imagine hearing a noise of some kind that scares me. Another time I saw a dark green man standing near my bed, reaching out his hand towards me. I've heard that these kinds of "sleep hallucinations" often occur when you're really tired or sleep deprived, which I was. I had been out with a friend to see "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (Very odd watching Englishmen and Americans playing Swedish... yet speaking in English with a bad fake Swedish accent). I got to bed around half past midnight and even though I was tired it took maybe an hour before I started falling asleep. I felt really drowsy and closed my eyes... then for some reason I opened my eyes, and instead of seeing my own ceiling above me I saw a wooden church ceiling. Or a high ceiling at least (mine is flat and white). Then I blinked and it was gone.
