I have so strange dreams. People think it's worrying that I only have nightmares, but I usually don't mind. I call them "nightmares" because the theme in them aren't good and would make the most people scared, but since I'm the dreamer I'm usually not that scared. It's more like a general feeling of doom throughout the dream. The last 4 or 5 nights it's been a bit worse, probably because I've slept for 10-12 hours each night instead of my normal 6-8. One night I dreamt I was stuck in another dream; I was standing by a window looking out, when I saw a moose from a distance. The moose appeared to have wing-like things on its side. This made me think I was dreaming, but to see whether I was right I reached for my camera and tried to take photos of the moose. As the camera was adjusting focus (auto focus, rarr), the moose started to move away, but I got some shots of it (they weren't on my camera the day after :-(). At the same time a lion was moving towards me. I was standing on a balcony pretty high up, so I didn't think it could get to me, but at the same time I was afraid because I couldn't wake up. The idea of not being able to tell dream from reality and being stuck in my subconscious was not a good one. I woke up into the second dream after the lion, of course, attacked me and tried to claw off my face. I "woke up" in a friend's apartment.
In the second part of the dream, everyone was looking for a missing girl. The setting was a run-down city during the night; I think it was supposed to be Berlin. This is the traditional dream setting for my dreams... nothing scary actually happened, but we did go inside a really creepy abandoned preschool. It was dark, broken and kids' toys were scattered everywhere along the debris and remains from homeless people's visits.
Tonight I had a mostly disturbing dream, but not so scary. It was like I was watching a sort of cartoon, with two friendly Barbapapa-esque creatures. One of them was bigger and older, the other one was in his early teens. It was partly disturbing because, while they had very cartoon like movements and reactions as if they were in a children's show, there was a sexual undertone to it (no actual sex though; that would have been even weirder). As the scene wore on, it became clear that the older one had inappropriate feelings about the younger one, who was some sort of troubled kid. It ended with the younger one taking a swan dive from a window (they were in a apartment in a high building) with a pretty graphic landing and died.
The other dreams have mostly been stress dreams and pretty unremarkable... like I've been late for a plane and what not. :P
I've been thinking of starting a dream diary, but to be honest I would probably censor it anyway, which would make it kind of useless. Even if I don't plan on showing it to anyone, it would be embarrassing if someone read it by mistake. :P
I have to rush now, going to play badminton soon.
