people are afraid dbsk is being forgotten. it's not that they're being forgotten, it's that they have reached their peak. i said it.
mirotic days were explosive, cassies were crazy and wetting themselves - then a bomb explodes called lawsuit, jyj is formed and continues, homin is in the dark for 2 years with dramas that weren't that great then come out with an album that did well because cassies were waiting (i actually want impressed at first by how well their vocals were even as a duo, but quickly got over it).
(i personally didn't watch either homin's dramas b/c of the bad reviews so if i'm wrong, then i apologize. but no one can say that either homin's dramas were as good as yoochun's or jaejoong's or junsu's musicals. period.)
kpop fans who are just starting aren't likely to know dbsk right away, until they see a crap load of pictures and cassies on their asses about not knowing them. i can't blame them because homin aren't the most active in korea at the moment. at least, to me, they don't. why? all i see are magazine pictures. being on shows or whatever tv appearance, i don't see much. dbsk is fizzing out and that is very heartbreaking. it kills me to see homin working so hard but as a fan, i don't see their hardwork paying off. all i see are cassies from dbsk5-days still on the line because they don't want to let go and that's all good and wonderful, but popularity is going downhill.
i know homin suffered and jyj-cassies calling them traitors. there are also homin-cassies calling jyj traitors. it goes both ways. both groups suffered loss and also suffered many other ways fans can't imagine.
i hold both homin and jyj dear to me, so i am not in any way bashing either of them. i just think it'll never be the same with homin, for obvious and not so obvious ways. although i thought they would do okay as homin, but their lack of vocal range is worrying (homin has said so once as well). their duo vocal is fine for some songs, but not all. as dbsk5, they did pretty much every genre. so i'm worried about them as a vocal group. songs are starting to sound the same to me. although they said they're trying to keep the same image, it's definitely not the same because with two tall muscular men, all i see is two tall muscular men. with dbsk5, it was a range of muscular men. if you know what i mean. even for back then, i never though either homin would be able to go solo, because to me, they're very limited vocally. jyj balanced them out very well and perfectly.
all in all, i know this was all over the place and i forgot my purpose in this post but what i'm saying is that it won't be the same with just homin, their popularity is there and strong, but not rising. and i am very worried for them.
