(no subject)
Well I am now officially old :(
My little guy has finished junior school and my not-so-little girl has finished senior school and has had a prom to prove it.
The boy had a leaver's assembly on his last day and they all had to do a little performance and they all read a little piece they'd written about what they liked best about school and various memories. His little party piece was to tell some jokes with another boy and they were actually really good and everyone laughed so that was good. The whole event was a little choky I have to say, but one has to endure these things as best one can, I suppose, lol.
The girl has actually been out of school since the end of May, but she has had all her GCSE's to cope with - not that she used her extra time off to revise, of course, oh no, that would've been too easy!!!! She was confident of some and not quite so much on others so we shall see come August how she gets on.
In the last couple of years the school has taken on the American custom of having an end of year prom. They don't go the whole hog with having to be invited and have partners and booking into hotels for sex afterwards (lol!), it's just for the whole of year 11 and they had a buffet and disco and a mechanical bull (!) and they did go in a posh car and they all wore gorgeous dresses and suits so immense fun was had by all. I can't believe she can be old enough to be finishing school, it's just scary :(
It's hubs birthday today so age feelings are going round. Life must go on I suppose, though I wish it could happen without all the growing up, heehee.
Ahh well, c'est la vie.
