Today I ordered
Carcassonne Big Box and
War of the Ring. I've been playing
Arkham Horror at a friends house almost every week and enjoy the experience quite a bit, so I hopped on the
BoardGameGeek website and spent about an hour reading though reviews and descriptions of games until I found the one I wanted. Not content with merely one $50 game, I then had Lisa choose one she liked and ordered both (Though we're going to be splitting the cost, as I mostly make money from selling used ninja weapons. Oh yeah, and my job.)
What we're going to try and do is have a game night once a week. Both of these games can be played with two players and "War of the Ring" is, according to reviews, best if played with two players. So that's going to be cool. I like board games, and both Lisa and I don't mind putting hours into a fun game, so this looks to be a fun experiment.
In less fun news, I was out Thursday with what was either food poisoning, or someones attempt to slowly feed me poisons until I'm immune. In this case it meant that I was very sick when I woke up, and then sick again after I went out to the laundromat to do laundry. In the end, I called out of work and spent the day in close proximity to the tiled room of flushing. However, I did get to play Sims 2 some, as well as a couple of Neverwinter Nights mods.
Lastly, we're planning a couple of vacations this year which will be awesome and hopefully result in me unearthing a mystical artifact that will finally grant me super-hero powers. This is to be viewed with great anticipation.
