In which a question is asked, and replies encouraged
Lisa has invited me over to her father's house for the fourth of July fireworks thing her town is doing. It's tomorrow, and her family is having dinner and then going to watch fireworks, apparently with me in tow. This is the first time I will meet her father and stepmother, as well as her siblings. I was invited to her brother's birthday tonight, but after consideration (which I just finished yesterday, due to my extreme speed of thought) I decided against attending. I know Lisa wanted me there because I am so intoxicatingly handsome, and she would have someone to ogle all night, but I just didn't want to overshadow Jeff's birthday like that. Well, really, I didn't want to go because it is his birthday, and I don't know him all that well. It's a family and friends occasion and I am neither.
Anyway. So tomorrow I meet them for the first time, and I was thinking I should bring something. I thought of a bottle of wine.
Thus my question:
Upon meeting Lisa's family for the first time, what bottle of wine should I bring?
I asked a manager of mine, and she stated that upon certain occasions she enjoys Rosemont Estate Shiraz, an Australian wine. She wasn't certain of the name, but that was what she eventually decided it was called. I, having last bought wine approximately four thousand years ago, really am not a connoisseur. So I thought of my Livejournal friends, a veritable font of wisdom.
Please, aid me in this my time of need.
