I realise that i'm setting myself up for a shitload of grief in 2008, but in addition to Quit Smoking objective (see post below), i have also resolved - as part of a long-term goal of becoming a better person (not that there's much left to do...) - is to be NICER come January 2008.
What it entails is this:
1. I shall not utter expletives in the office.
2. I shall not utter expletives particularly in Hokkien, German, Malay and Mandarin, in the office.
3. I shall refrain from making overtly sarcastic comments.
4. I shall refrain from making overtly sarcastic comments particularly on my colleagues' dressing, no matter how hideously attired
5. I shall refrain from lashing out at any entity with the temerity to disagree with my divine opinion
6. I shall refrain from taking a red pen and slashing across the page of any written material i find unsatisfactory, especially with the offending party looking on
7. I shall laugh more sincerely
8. I shall smile more sincerely
9. I shall be appear more sincere in my encouragement of mediocrity, and less critical of flawed work, as I acknowledge that people deserve to feel good about themselves. Yes, even the failures.
10. I shall acknowledge that the previous three points are subjective in nature and fully intended to be such.
