I am sitting on the couch with my Aunt Yolanda at my grandparents' house, but it is the present day, so they are still both dead. She keeps saying "Look out there (out the front window)! I swear that the brain can be far more truly creative when dreaming than awake. Sure, we come up with all this cool shit in our day to day lives, but it's all derived from something we already know. I think some of the stuff in my dreams is actually somehow without precedent... maybe due to its randomness or the joining of rationality and irrationality in ways my conscious brain would never allow.
