And hopefully the imaginary burglar wasn't a ghost or spook trying to get help in avenging his untimely death. I doubt there is a 911 emergency response for ghosts. Hmm, I think there's a decent story in there somewhere.

And that's how Jon joined SAVE!

(Or the Union, if we're playing Hunter: The Vigil.)

Given my expanded life experience, I'd be curious to play a SAVE envoy who had a family and actual career obligations. I think in the universe of your first Chill game there were probably some SAVE orphans.

That was always one of the tricks in making a Chill character; how do you do it with some ties to a real life, which makes for better drama, but that could realistically get away at the drop of a hat?

So many things I'd do differently if I were running Chill nowadays.

If I remember correctly you ran a Chill game where the characters were generally dispatched to places closer to home. I think that would be more realistic, and would also provide an opportunity to revisit settings. The occasional trip to the South American jungle would be cool, but really, who can do that without much notice?

The other thing I would love to see in a Chill game is some representation of all of the non-supernatural incidents envoys would be sent to. If police work has taught me anything, it's that genuine emergencies are comparatively rare.

I mentioned that in the last Chill game I ran; lots of false alarms, but we don't really play those out, because, well. Boring.
