T-1 days

Tomorrow, the movers come to pack. I think I'm almost ready, although there's a ton of tiny little things that can't be done until the very last moment. (For example, moving the cat bowls and litter boxes into the "Do not Move" pile, or bringing home the monitor and mouse I use every day.) That's actually causing most of my stress right now. It's not that any one of the tasks is hard; it's just that there are just enough of them to take a reasonable amount of time.

One frustrating thing about the movers is that even though I'm now 24 hours away from the packing, they still haven't given me an arrival time. Calling this morning only garnered me a, "They don't make their schedules until the day before, and will be calling you later today." Seriously, how hard is it to be able to give someone 24 hours notice about when you're going to be showing up on their doorstep? It particularly matters because I'm trying to schedule a last minute breakfast with a friend, and a 9:00 arrival time means the breakfast is possible, while a 7:00 arrival time means it may not be.

I did manage to sneak in a run this morning, which I think helps keep me sane. I started some speed work from my Running: A Year Around Plan book. I've never done organized speed work before, so it's something new and fun. It's also handy since I'm at the beginning and the initial workouts are only 20-25 minutes. Those are a lot easier to fit in to my current schedule than higher-mileage runs. I confess I had enough fun with the drills that I snuck in an extra one, even though I wasn't supposed to.
