Weekend in the Big Apple.

So I'm back from New York, none the worse for wear. Actually it was very nice to have a change of scenery and I'm pleasantly refreshed in both body and mind.

The trip went underway on Thursday night, I was picked up by my Loo friends, Karun & Vinayak, and we were on our way. About midnight, we got to the border and got to meet the border guards. Wow.. Just .. Wow. Those guys are just plain mean. I jokingly mentioned the word bomb off-hand and my friends got all nervous. Fun times. We were only stopped for about 10min but seriously, those guys are hard-asses. The guys we were meeting up had a much harder time as one was from born from Kuwait and another from Iraq and all 3 guys were brown. Let's just say they were stuck at the border for an hour.

New York's subway system is pretty intense. Much more useful than Toronto's which drops u off in random places, NY's system goes pretty much all over Manhattan. We did the obligatory sight-seeing (my leg's still somewhat numb from that) and enjoyed the nightlife.

Let me tell you that getting into clubs with 5 other guys on the Easter weekend was hell. Seriously, they almost require a 1:1 ratio. We did eventually hit up a swank penthouse club called 'The Hotel Escort'. Absolutely beautiful. Could see most of the SOHO/Greenwich Village area and part of the skyline. Surprisingly (since we're an all guy party), it wasn't a sausage-fest either. One complaint though, $14 drinks are a tad excessive. Can't quite get a buzz with an empty wallet :S

And now.. back to work :(
