Jon Stewart Shows Up For Surprise Lecture at NYU!

Sep 15, 2010 14:25

Don’t feel like waking up for your 9:30 lecture? Students in Victor Pickard’s Intro to Media Studies class were really glad that they did when Jon Stewart happened to be guest lecturing their class. Stewart entered the class pretending to be a professor and launched into a routine spoofing the typical university media class. Then Stewart took 40 minutes of Q and A from the class. Professor Pickard said, “the students asked really great questions, this was a great opportunity for them.”

Pickard was asked a little less than a week ago by Stewart’s people if the guest lecture could occur in his class. “They reached out to me,” said Pickard. “And I readily accepted.” Stewart’s production crew was there filming the lecture which will hopefully air on his show soon. The host who’s on the cover of this week’s New York Magazine, also gave out free advance copies of his new book “Earth (The Book): A Visitor’s Guide to the Human Race” which comes out on September 21st. The only thing that could have possibly made this any better is if Stephen Colbert came out and faced Stewart in one of their infamous dance-off’s.
