To hate is to die, To love is to live

The War is not about beauty, its about rights and choice, speech of the free. At the rally on the 25th we were violent, aggressive, stupid and disorganized. We accomplished nothing and we will continue to, unless something changes. To use violence and threats is to stoop to our enemies level. When we mug a person, because of his beliefs or even worse appearance, we are no better than the Nazis. For if we are to believe in equality and freedom, we can not deny those rights to even our worst enemies. At that rally we did not so much protest the Nazi's beliefs as much as we protest their presence in the park. They had just as much as a right to be their as we did. In America everyone has the right to say what they believe, to gather, to protest and to march, regardless of their beliefs, right or wrong. We should not have protested their presence but their beliefs. Instead of alienating them as radicals, we painted ourselves as radicals. Instead of protesting their hatred we amplified our own. For when we deny someone their fundamental rights, regardless of who they are or what they are, equality vanishes. If we are to accomplish anything it will be through compassion and love, not violence and hate. The world doesn’t need any more hate.
"Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime." - Ernest Hemingway
"From the equality of rights springs identity of our highest interests; you cannot subvert your neighbor's rights without striking a dangerous blow at your own." - Carl Schulz
In retrospect we did intimidate the Nazis. We scared them and something was acomoplished, but i feel that more could be done nonviolently.
