Whatever happened to superheros? The good old fashioned selfless men and women who laid down their lives to protect those that needed help. I believe there's a hero in all of us, someone who keeps us honest and good. I'm obviously lacking someone who prevents me from ripping off Aunt May's lines from Spiderman 2, but that is beside the point.

There are plenty of heros, my favourite is Batman, walking the line between good and evil, never too clear whether the means justified the end, after all, who gave him the right to fight and pass judgement the criminals, thugs and gangsters of Gotham? You might think I'm talking a load of comic book related bollocks, except I have a point; we do have heros. We have Bob Geldof.

I know if I were to be a top of a sky scraper aside a broken helicopter screaming for help, rather annoyed my skirt had been ripped in the process; that when I lost my grip and I fell Bob would save me, just like Superman did Lois in Superman: The Movie.

I know you're thinking, 'Jonny, what about Bono? Is he not a hero?'

Well, to be honest, Bob would save me from falling to my death, whereas Bono would watch as I fell, thinking, 'Oooh, dear', and after I'd hit the floor, he'd moan and criticise everyone for not doing anything and then write a song which'd be alright, a part from the Edge playing guitar, I can't be having a song written about myself with the Edge on guitar. I mean come on! We're talking about a middle aged man who calls himself 'The Edge'. What happens when he visits his mum? 'Oooh Edge, dear, would you like another cuppa?', 'No mum', he'd say, 'I'm quite alright, I'm too busy trying to remind Bono he's a rockstar.'

In short, Bob Geldof would save you, Bono would wait until you die, then moan. Wanker.

ciao,
