Been 4 months, huh?

It's been a busy bunch of time. I began my semester, and will soon be finishing it, at Hamline in the MAT program. Been meeting a lot of great people and figuring out a future for myself. It's like I'm growing up or something.

March 31st was the first ever Minnesota Beard-off, where I was a judge. It was a lot of fun to do, even if it was incredibly busy inside Sauce. Wall-to-wall, just tons and tons of people. Pretty crazy. Got to see some very impressive beards, and maybe next year we'll be having another event. I don't really know what the deal is, and I'm not particularly interested in planning it. Whatevs.

I've been trying out making different barbecue sauces in preparation for summer. My goal is to make a BBQ sauce that is just perfect to me (and isn't Famous Dave's Rich and Sassy). So far, the quest is going pretty well but it's been a while since I did anything because of the stresses of a semester coming to a close. Here's hoping that by the time I make a brisket this summer I'll have an amazing sauce to eat with it.

Took a trip down to St. Louis for fun a couple weeks ago. I got to see a bunch of my buddies, see the Staam concert, and even eat some amazing food. I also hung out with a guy from the forums who took me to a really rad game store and to his place for arcade games. It was a really awesome trip. Also, in about a month and a half, I'll be flying out to LA to go to Bobak's wedding, which should also be an excellent trip. I'll be spending time with Joel, who's out there, and going to check out places I've always wanted to see: Roscoe's, Venice Beach, and Arcade Infinity. Good times.

I feel like a lot of my life updates are better given in smaller portions, like on my Twitter, but it's not like I tweet much like my brother does. But for example, I can look back at my feed and see approximately the same amount of content as I used to see when reading through my journal here. And mostly this journal has been of personal benefit. Just seems sort of weird to "blog" about my life and not have anything that's that regularly scheduled. I tried creating a beard blog but it quickly went to crap because I wasn't able to find enough inspiration. I thought about creating a video gaming blog about what I'm playing but I doubt anyone would read it or care much. Then again, who reads this? I could at least get fans to read about my raving reviews of how much I love God Hand or how Cave releasing shooters to the US is one of the best parts of 2010 so far. Whateeeever. I'll let these ideas simmer for a while and someday, someday I'll be decisive about it.
