Hey guys,
It seems forever since I last updated, but alas it's only been a short while ago that I had good access to a computer with good internet. If you're wondering about the subject heading...well, then I'll explain. My phone lines are crossed with two other houses, so internet has been but a fantasy and all calls coming to or from my house have been irritable with dial tones, busy signals and the like...all on top of my conversations. It's a pain. And la telefonica doesnt seem to care that we called the other day and set up an appointment for last saturday, oh well. So that's what that means.
Summer has winded down rather well and things are good. Right now I'm chillin in the Comp Lab on campus since I started classes today. I seem to have a pretty easy load on every day except Wednesday. Lets see how my semester plays out.
Well...the other day I bought myself a pretty lil' ring. It has diamonds, and it doesnt quite fit my finger. So I figured I needed to do something with it. So I carried it with me yesterday when going to see Layra, thinking she might like it. I was about to hand it to her but I slipped and fell on one knee, and I was like..."Oh hey, you want this?" She thought it was cool and said yes. So it seems I'm officially engaged. Whaddaya know? :P Obviously my story may be a little more subdued, but I'm sure Layra's is much more...hmm...masterful in her writing expression. Still I like to be a goof. But alas, that's NOT IN FACT the big bad news that I've been boasting about all summer. And that will come soon enough for those that are interested...and of course if you're interested I expect a comment at the end of this happy lil' post.
I'm currently looking for a job and still practicing my jazz. I have one last class today then I'm done...but not before a small update as to the summer.
June:
-----
Kinda boring, didn't do much. But did have some good times with some of the youth at Dad's church. Went on a boat ride or two, bought some stuff at Guitar Center, just chillin & getting fat. :P
July:
-----
Spent the first half of July doing the same ole stuff. I did however get to go see John from Oklahoma, as he was doing an internship in CT. It was fun. I spent two good days with him, chillin, joking around, being an insomniac, and getting slightly tipsy. Still nothing too far...everything in moderation.
Later on in the month I went to Oklahoma and visited Grandma and a few of my Oklahoma Folk. It was great to see Hector, Ben, Amanda, Amy, Tristan, and Lexy again. It reminded me of so many good times had...and of course a bad one or two...but I was happy to realize that nothing negative hit me while I was there. :) It was a good thing to revisit that place and enjoy some new good times with my friends. I miss them very much down here. But all is well. The trip back was crappy...
We left Tulsa, OK, 5 hours later than expected cuz of a huge delay...when we got to Chicago...our connectiing flight had obviously gone and we had nowhere to go and nothin to do. The following day we were supposed to go on a church trip to Pennsylvania too. So after lots of deliberation, anger, arguing and a complete lack of patience we found a Best Western to stay in, and my Dad got us a flight to Pennsylvania instead of CT. I ended up meeting up with a friend of mine named Marita in Chicago at like 2 a.m. I treated her to dinner and we had a great talk and catched up on stuff. :) When we got out of the restaurant at 4:10 a.m. It was time for a short nap. Our flight left at 7 a.m. We had to be at the airport by 5 a.m. So we made it to Pennsylvania and I took a nice nap on the plane. Once there, we got into a cab, and had a 1 hr drive to Lancaster. There the cab driver charged us the $200 he had originally said...but then he added a 20% tip. Bastard. Anywayz, no time to rest at the hotel...the church arrived a few minutes after we did...then it was time to get dressed again (I finally got to change my clothes...eww) and head out to do the things we had all planned on doing. That day and the following was fun and exciting and then we got home to CT on a bus full of people from the church...to then go to the airport and pick up our missing luggage which was (thank God) still there!
I took that Sunday off...packed...and left the next day back here.
I'm STILL trying to catch up on sleep. But I'm happy, and good. I'm very good! :D Still I could use a job for some extra $$$ in my pocket...lets see how that goes...
Oh...and I'm still alive! No lost limbs along the way, but I have developed a strong fondness of T.G.I. Friday's Jack Daniel's Steak. Good stuff.
Love you Lai.
