1. I was born on 8/23 at 8:23 am.
2. That's why most of my online names have "823" in them.
3. I was named after a bag of candy. While my mom was pregnant with me, she saw a bag of "Jonathan's Candies" and she loved the name.
4. I always wanted to be a teacher, right up until I got to college.
5. I opted out of majoring in education because I thought it was too much work for a profession that pays so little, and I wanted to study media.
6. When I was in kindergarten, I was in the school talent show as a teacher. I "took attendance" by calling out names of random classmates in the audience.
7. When I was in second grade, I played the lead in the class production of "Not Even the Mouse."
8. As the class lined up to go the auditorium on the big day, I threw up all over the classroom floor.
9. I haven't acted since, although I wish I had.
10. I joined the t-ball team in my neighborhood when I was young. I ended up quitting.
11. I was a Cub Scout for a year.
12. My dad abused alcohol for many years when I was younger. There was a lot of tension, fighting, and drama in my house, esp. with my older brothers and him.
13. That's why I lived such a sheltered life and currently have a tendency to be very introverted.
14. I harbor no resentment toward anyone. In fact, I admire my father immensely for all that he has overcome and I couldn't be prouder of him.
15. If anyone asks me who my best friend is, I won't hesitate to say my mom. She's helped me through so much and I wouldn't be the person I am today without her.
16. My favorite song is Mariah Carey's "Close My Eyes" because it is written from the point of view of an adult looking back on life, feeling that (s)he was exposed to things at a very young age that (s)he shouldn't have seen, and also asserting "Still I feel like a child as I look at the moon. Maybe I grew up a little too soon."
17. I always drink Pepsi because that's all my mom drinks and it reminds me of her.
18. I've worked at three different Stop & Shop stores since I turned 16. I am going on 22.
19. I stay there because I have health insurance, 3 weeks vacation, paid holidays, sick & personal time, *and* I was just given a "glowing recommendation" to corporate by my store manager for when I graduate. (I don't intend to stay there for the rest of my life though. LOL)
20. I lost my innocence when I was 19.
21. I fret over my appearance not because I'm vain, but because I'm insecure.
22. The only place I'll go without having taken a shower or gotten ready is to class.
23. If it wasn't for the Brockton S&S, I wouldn't have met two people who I consider two of the best friends I've ever had.
24. I've met Mariah Carey four times.
25. I really dislike the taste of beer, and of strong amounts of alcohol. This is why I don't drink all that much. Throw me a Pepsi, and I'm good. ;o)
26. I've never touched drugs, ever. (Unless you count Tylenol as a drug, in which case, guilty as charged.)
27. I've never been stung by a bee, and I'm scared to death of them.
28. If I could have any job, I would work for MTV-- so that I could be on TV, have an "in" in the music industry, and have an excuse to go to Times Square every day.
29. I've seen Celine Dion in concert twice.
30. I've seen Mariah in concert seven times. Six of them were on the same tour.
31. I've also seen Amy Grant, Janet Jackson, Shania Twain, LeAnn Rimes, and the horrific VH1 Divas Live 2001.
32. I love amusement parks. If I could live in one, I would.
33. I have a very incriminating picture of myself that will never be seen by anyone (else) ever. It's from high school. My friends and I were at Wendy's and they had their costumes from a play and they dared me to put on this yellow dress over my clothes, and go stand in front of the cardboard cutout of Dave Thomas near the registers. They all crowded around me, and they took the picture.
(And no, this doesn't mean anything other than the fact that we all were young and stupid, thankyouverymuch!)
34. One of my favorite movies is "Dangerous Minds," not because it's ghetto-fabulous like Lynn and Brockton, but because I adore the book it's based on: "My Posse Don't Do Homework" by LuAnn Johnson. An inspiration.
35. When I was younger I was all about Richie Rich comic books.
36. I was a straight-A student for 13 years. Now I can't even pull a 3.0
37. Out of 38 college courses, I've only gotten A's in four of them.
38. I love green pepper pizza.
39. I hate when people lie to me, especially when they think I'm so dense I'm not going to figure it out.
40. When I was a freshman, my roommate came back while I was laying down and had a not-so-quick quickie with his girlfriend that started so fast that I didn't have time to get off the top bunk and leave the room. Part of me thinks they knew I was there.
41. Last year, my roommate's girlfriend was my second roommate. She spent more time in our room than I did.
42. This year, I don't have a roommate. And I have loved every minute of it.
43. As of this year, I have a strange obsession with the show "7th Heaven." Don't ask me why. I don't know.
44. I broke my collar bone when I was in first grade.
45. I was in the living room watching "The Price is Right" while my mom napped when the special report about the Oklahoma City bombings broke.
46. I was in my 8th grade literature class when the O.J. Simpson trial verdict was announced.
47. I can remember every second of 9/11 but that would be a bit much to list here.
48. I have 84 different Mariah Carey CDs.
49. Snoopy is my hero.
Changes?
18. Change 3 to 6.
19. Guess I'm still there! LOL
25. Hey, things change....
41 and 42 are not relevant anymore.
48 ... The number has increased dramatically.
