Twilight Zone: The Movie was not a very good film. Most of it is uninspired, dreadful remakes of stories done far better on the original show. Or decent, but unnecessary remakes.
And then there's the fact that the dishonesty and frivolity of one of the directors directly lead to the death of an actor and two innocent children.
Still, the pre-credits prologue is very good! Oddly enough, it's the segment -not- based on an old episode. Yet, it excels at doing several things Serling did so well in the old show. Use humor and mundane, naturalistic situations. Get the audience's guard down. And then, without any warning...plunge in the knife and TWIST!
