In order to keep up with my journal entry-ness I will forgo finishing the post about Fridays events, which I'm sure you could find out about from
Joel's xanga since I was over at his place the rest of the eve...Actually, after leaving Joel's place I realized I had left my keys there, so Daniel drove over to the gas station down from the apartments and I sprinted to get my keys and then sprinted back to the car. She drove Chad and I over to Mosher circle and we both got out. Chad went to see a girl or something  and I made my way through several groups of inebriated aggies that were on their way to midnight yell. I made it out to lot PA 100A and got my car (we have to move out of that lot for game day).
For some reason I drove over to McDonalds and bought myself a chocolate shake. I don't know why I did, but I'm glad because I really enjoyed the cool shake. The chocolate had a hint of strawberry shake flavor to it. I'm not sure why it had it, but that made the shake all that much better. I then drove back to campus and parked in lot PA 42, which is much closer to my dorm than lot PA 100. I wish I could park in PA 42 all the time, but it's a commuter lot or something.
I made my way back to the dorm just in time to watch the rain come pouring down. In fact, there was a really great showing of lightning before the storm hit. At first it was off in the distance and reflecting off the clouds for a very diffused effect. As it came closer the lightning was clearly visible with some skipping from cloud to cloud rather than streaking down to the earth. At one point on my way back from McDonalds it flashed so bright that one could have taken a picture and mistaken it for a cloudy afternoon.
So I sat in my chair, the chair (there is only one chair in my mind, but that's just my criterion for chair...ness), and surfed the intarweb for a bit before laying down to read some The Mind's I and drifting off to sleep around 2:00 AM.
Saturday:
An uneventful and unproductive morning. I woke up "early" around 9:00 or so and took a shower after browsing through Hobbes. I'm really not sure how I passed my time so swiftly yesterday, but it did involve going to Sbisa around 12:00 and eating a meal of just fruit and a salad composed mostly of broccoli and spinach. I came back and did nothing in front of my computer for several hours...well, I guess I did type up some stuff around whatever time I made my last post in the Xanga.
I think around 4:00 I tried to do some more reading in The Mind's I but I barely made it through Turing's Computing Machinery and Intelligence before I fell asleep. I wallowed in languor on my bed until about 5:30 and was awakened by my roommate returning from Freebirds. I was hungry and Freebirds sounded good, so when he made a comment about how he only needed a few more stamps on his Freebirds card to get a hat, I finalized my dinner plans and took his card with me to help him finish it out.
Since the football game started at six, I was walking through a morass of maroon shirts on my way to Freebirds. Making my way across the street was such an ordeal that I just stopped and let people walk around me instead of pushing my way through them. Needless to say, I wasn't in the intersection long enough to get hit by a car or anything. Freebirds was nearly empty but it still took about 10 minutes of waiting to put in my order :(. I ordered a monster flour burrito with rice, cheese, and black beans. Steak, hot sauce, cilantro, red onions, and salsa hopped on towards the end of the ride too. Unfortunately, my burrito split along it's side after the young lady rolled it up, so it's innards spilled out all over the tin tray. She just poured it out onto a new tortilla, though, and it was no worse for wear. Six dollars and a stamp later I was on my way back to the dorm, with the flow of bodies this time.
I finished the whole thing and watched some of the game before Chad called around 7:30 inviting me over for more game watching and eventual eating (ack, more food). I wasted some time browsing through collegehumor.com and Chad called again about suggestions for eateries and to ask how long it would be before I got to his place. I suggested Marble Slab ice cream (only half jokingly, as I had already eaten my dinner) and sheepishly explained that it would be about 10 minutes before I would make it to his place because I had yet to leave the dorm.
I made it to the Chad/Paul/Josh/Tim casa in a semi-timely fashion and avoided striking pedestrians making their way to their car. After parking I went up to their room and started to write something witty on their door, unfortunately I felt it wasn't witty enough, so I erased it and walked in.
The place was quite as complete of a shit hole as it had been on previous visits, which surprised me, and had lost it 'distinctive' smell. Paul, Chad, Thomas and Daniel were all in Chad's room watching some strongbad cartoon or whatever the hell that allstarrunner thing is called. Paul had helped make the decision that eating would commence at Bannanagin's. We made a rude rush for the door in 'our' attempt to avoid alerting Josh to our departure for eats.
Paul gave us all an extemporaneous explanation as to why his car was nearly out of fuel and yet he was not going to stop anywhere to get gas. For some reason he is attempting to go for one month without filling up for gas, or rather, only fill up his vehicle once per month. We then coasted downhill to Bennigan's.
It was an enjoyable eating experience. Thomas ordered water when the waitress came by and she tried to get him to buy some expensive bottled kind. We used this as a springboard for making jokes about being cheap the rest of the time we were there. Let's see, Daniel had potato wedges and stuff, Thomas had a Humungoid burger and stuff, Chad had pasta and stuff, Paul had that fried sandwich thing and stuff and I had I bigass slice of cheesecake topped with stuff. When the waitress came by and asked if we wanted refills I made a crack about "are refills free" for the water and later Chad asked her to wait for me (I had gone to the bathroom) when she came by to see if anyone wanted dessert. We noted that Paul was leaving a 40% tip and then compared all of our tip %'s before we left.
We headed out to Dairy Queen to get some blizzards, as had been earlier planned, but I was way too full and Chad had ordered dessert after his meal while at Benningan's. We had fun with the charity coin thing that was all sorts of inner machinery to entertain the donator and entice them to give money for more than charity alone. I pointed out that this charity thing was just for kids and therefore Paul was excluded from being able to donate as he was not a kid but he didn't head my advice. I expect him to rue those actions at some point in the future, probably when he wants a coke but is a quarter short.
We made it back to the Quattro Amigos Casa and watched Venture Bro. and then Daniel and Chad play Sonic 3 on the gamecube. Needless to say Paul went to his room to watch a movie on his computer and I left around 12:30. My drive back to lot PA 42 was uneventful and I made it back to my room to finish Turing's section in my book and Hofstadter's reflections. Sleep washed over me around 1:50.
