hope.
so, today i was sitting in my gay saturday class
(not lesbian studies, some stupid computer class that i have to take as a pre-requisite)
(how stupid you ask ? so stupid that our homework this week was to learn to send an e-mail to someone)
and i was helping this girl who sits next to me
(big clue here. i am helping people because they do not know what they are doing and they think i am some sort of whiz kid on the computer).
so, i digress. back to the story.
we have a break and i head to the whiz house. the girl who sits next to me,
ocatavia (what a pretty name) is sitting in the hall having a snack. i walk by and read her t-shirt which states,
"i want to draw your blood". so, i, smart girl that i am, realize that she must be a phlebotomist and inquire as to
where on my way back from the whizzer. turns out that she is indeed a phlebotomist at GOOD SAM.
"no way" says i.
"indeed" says she.
so we get to talking and i tell her of my "thanks-but-no-thanks" letter that i received wednesday.
"no way" says she. octavia goes on to explain that the lab at good sam is desperate for people and that
three quit just this week. (maternity leave, etc.)
she cannot believe that no one called me because she is full time and is working 70 hours a week because there is no staff. she says that the personnel department doesn't send applications to the lab and, as we speak, the job board in
the lab is packed full of openings and that her supervisor is telling the phlebotomists to find people to work there !!!!! so i, being the sharp tool that i am, give her my name and digits. she says she is going to work at 4pm today
and will forward the information to her supervisor as soon as she gets there.
yay for that is what i say.
in other news, i was at night sky cafe tonight with my friend melissa.
we were waiting in line for our desserts and this woman walks up to me and says,
"i just want to tell you that you have really cool hair. it's beautiful".
thanks for that is what i say.
