No worries - we really need to add some clickable FAQs at the top of that section.

Something I want to be completely sure of before we roll out any kind of representation for other artists is that I can lay out firm, clear figures on the table to show what you can expect. Right now we are completely creator owned, so we share a lot of the organisational burdens and costs, along with the risks, and we're looking at it as a growing concern.

Just now we're still in (the last stages of) public beta, so I'm not yet happy with either directly promising or leading anyone to expect sales, nor taking a fee or cut for something I can't 100% back up. To my mind if I were to take on other artists that would imply I knew they could expect to sell work through the site. Whereas this is a new market to us, and we're constantly learning what does sell under this model, and what doesn't. The picture is still not very clear on that, and it needs time to clarify further.

Don't get me wrong - things are going well with the site. We're certainly in what seems to be a very stable position. But hopefully you know me well enough to know I don't want to offer less than a reliable representation for anyone who doesn't have a direct investment in the site. I want to be able to say "You give us X tiffs of Y work, and we will sell in the region of A units in B time".

Once that occurs, the floodgates will be flung wide!

NP, I'm with you on that. It looks to me like a smart venture. I wouldn't be opposed to contributing work to help see what works and what doesn't. I'm not looking for a quick buck. More looking for cool people to collaborate with, and a new way to get art out there. relationships and art exposure first, money later once people know what works and what doesn't.

Actually, my expectations are nil as far as money goes. I know that it takes time to get the wheels going anyways.

Dude, seriously, if you're interested, I can help out, crank out some actually nice stuff for nothing, and just see if it pulls interest or not.
