Frankly, I lost my shit at the second tweet and went on a huge, sobbing, emotional spiral that only ended when... I started drafting this entry lol. Just copy+pasting my own tweets into a ramble here:
Jonghyun is such an embodiment of self-love. It means he has all the room to give endless love to others. Honestly, I just want to cryyyy, you've got to take care of yourself in this world, and jjong is, he is, jjong is so lovely, I love him, god I do.
Possbly my favorite quote from him, out of many many many good quotes: "In order to become an entertainer, I would quietly give myself confidence. I cried a lot, and laughed a lot." [from Screen Magazine, Aug. 2009]
I'm so overwhelmed lk;;;l;;;; The win itself happened SO FAST, and jjong said in his speech that his head was all dizzy, and this...!!!!
It's the idea of being able to treat yourself as you would treat a friend; as someone you love. And what makes it so affecting and remarkable to me is that I know (disclaimer: or have an approximate perception of the image he presents to the public, blahblahblah) that it's NOT effortless for him, because he gets hung up on the things he thinks he's done wrong and he's hard on himself and he takes things deeply to heart. It doesn't necessarily come naturally to him but he still does it.
AND HE IS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON. AND I LOVE HIM. AND HE WON TODAY FOR A SONG HE WROTE, SEVEN YEARS AFTER DEBUT.
I just really - really - how can you not love him? Or at least, how can you not recognize these qualities in him of immense kindness and generosity and openness, and how can you not appreciate him for it? I'm so happy he won. I'm so happy I was here to see him be able to do this - any of this.
