I'm having a rather sentimental day, so I wanted to start a discussion on how we all came to like SHINee and our respective favourite members (although we're here, it doesn't have to be Jonghyun, of course)!

ugh I completely didn't mean to ignore you, sorry this is so late! and I'm just going to reply all out of order: in his old high school band, he wanted to be the vocalist, but the role was taken. idk lately I think his voice has really been used for these vocal gymnastics, like long and high notes, and sometimes it's distressing because he's talked about how his voice is being strained and needs rest but he doesn't get to, and how it's something you can't ever get back once it's gone. His lower register is so pretty and we hardly hear it these days :(

ugh his tweets today were so cute (as per), i want to cry (as per!!) I'm grateful for him, I really am. I'm so happy his hair is growing out... ; o ; I do think he was the one member who was genuinely friendly and close with everyone in the group (I say "was" because I think the dynamics have changed sufficiently that they're all pretty friendly now). There are a lot of pictures of Jonghyun with Taemin and Minho hanging out together off-schedule around debut! and yes I love the MV for Love Like Oxygen, JONGHYUN LOOKS SO GOOD IN GOLD I HAVE LITERALLY GONE THROUGH ALL THE COLOURS MULTIPLE TIMES LIKE "WHAT COLOUR DOES NOT LOOK FLATTERING ON JONGHYUN" AND COME UP WITH NOTHING. NOTHING!!

I just realised I hadn't responded to this! I wasn't even expecting a reply lmao, I really did just dump this here and then like leave. I thought I'd heard that he wanted to be the main vocal but ah I'm glad it's true! Taeyeon said the same thing about her voice, and while their voices can obviously handle it, the repetition and constantly being one of the main vocals laying a stable foundation for every performance must be beyond exhausting. Yeah um, protecting the health of your artists is important, but the voice is an instrument and you have to take really good care of it and let it rest sometimes.

His tweet for Minho/To the Beautiful You :') I don't watch their shows (I don't watch anyone's shows lmao terrible fan) but even I've noticed that they all seem close now, that I can't really distinguish the closer relationships. Like obviously I love Jongkey and Jongyu but they all seem to be doing well. HE LOOKS SO GREAT IN IT I AGREE ugh I love him in dark colours/grey I mean you know what I mean, they're usually the ones in your edits and I'm like but this is my FAVOURITE OUTFIT HOW DID YOU KNOW. ♥
