I had to take one of my teenage daughters to see the doctor this morning. I'm not sure what's wrong with her, but she's definitely a little under the weather.
One of the many downsides of being severely autistic is that she can't tell anyone what hurts or where. It took a good ten minutes to get her to allow someone to check her inner-ear.
The Doc wants a urine and blood sample. For the blood sample, I'll have to literally hold Rachel down while they get the needle in her arm. Never fun for either of us. She was already stressed from the ear inspection so I've put that off until Thursday - hopefully she'll get better over the next day or so and won't need it.
As for the urine sample, let's just say I'd gladly swap places with that kid who got the T-Rex pee in the third Jurassic park movie and leave it at that.
Since Rachel clearly wants an afternoon of snuggling up on the couch, watching Disney movies with her dear old dad, the latest installment of The Fine Art of Self-Promotion will have to wait for another day. On a brighter note, no doubt inspired by all the chat about steak & kidney pie in my last post, Senior Management made a batch of her world famous sausage rolls yesterday. Yum!
I hope your Monday's going well.
