What was your last 'Savor the Moment' moment?

I enjoyed three, very different, 'Savor the Moment' moments over the weekend.

The first came on Saturday afternoon, as I drove up the NJ Turnpike, on my way back from an event in Cherry Hill. One of those car transport thingies blew a tire, just as I overtook it on the outside lane.

What was left of the tire smacked into my car, but instead of veering out of control, and squashing me against the concrete barrier on the outside lane, the driver kept his cool and pulled over to the breakdown lane. There was no damage, aside from some scratched paintwork, along with some rubber markings on the passenger window and down the length of my car. I consider it a lucky break, and definitely worth savoring.

The second moment came later, during a multi-author signing at B&N store in Holmdel. A young reader, named Kim, who I think was nine or ten years old, came up to me shortly after buying a signed copy of Fur-Face. She said, "I just finished the first chapter, I'm enjoying it so far."  You can't beat reader feedback, right?

The third, and best, moment, came on the Sunday, when Senior Management brought my daughters to the Pawsitively Animals event at the library in Manalapan. I don't think the girls expected to see me there - they've certainly never seen their dear old dad in Loudmouth Author mode before. I got a big hug from both of them before the eldest shouted, "We loves daddy!"

A great way to end a week.

How about you?
