I had a most enjoyable weekend. On Friday morning I drove through the rush hour traffic to give a talk at the Open Books Open Minds II, Literary Conference at Caldwell College.
Upon arrival, I prized my fingers from the steering wheel with even greater respect for Senior Management. I don’t know how she negotiates rush hour traffic several times a week without letting it affect her mood.
I thoroughly enjoyed my morning session, which was followed by a nice lunch and a mini-book fair, featuring the other folks who gave talks earlier in the day.
From there I dug out my passport and crossed the border into Pennsylvania, heading for Allentown and my fifth
Write Stuff Conference (my first as a presenter). I love the family atmosphere at the Write Stuff. Everyone seems to go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I had fun hanging out with old friends and making new ones.
On the Friday evening, I sat on one of the page cuts panels, then gave two talks on the Saturday, followed by the book fair, where I got to use that clever Square thingy for people who wanted to pay by debit/credit.
Though I felt pretty tired when I got home, the positive energy from the weekend has me feeling mentally energized and raring to go.
How about you?
How was your weekend?
