Knitting Like a Motherf***er

Jan 21, 2007 13:55

I hope that someday, when I'm all old, gray, and wrinkly, I will be deemed the coolest grandmother on the face of the planet.

As random as that claim may sound, there is, in fact, some reasoning behind it.

I'm sitting here knitting a lilac-purple scarf as part of my badgework for girl scouts, to be later donated to someone who needs a little bit of cheering up. And last night, I was complaining about how my older-than-dirt sewing machine can't do button holes that are larger than an inch and a quarter. Not to mention that just a few days ago, my friends were complaining about my 'Mother-Hen Complex'("Did you get enough to eat?", "Why didn't you finish your homework?", "YOU DID WHAT?!?!", etc.).

I guess that I'm getting old... And not even realizing it.

But it's okay, because I can guarantee you this; Some 50-odd years from now, I'll probably be the only Grandma you know who's purposely trying to look like a corpse.
