The people who work here are quite spesh.
Today when I came back from lunch, Jeff our Concierge, smiled innocently and said, "Lovely day."
This was not an unreasonable comment. It's about 24 (aka 81), sunny, not too humid, fabulous breeze. But anything over about 22 exceeds the Jonesie pleasant-meter.
So I grumped and said, "Ehh. Too hot. I don't complain about the weather in the winter. But I reserve the right to whinge and moan now."
He said, "Okay. Too hot. Got it."
Then I went upstairs and forgot the whole conversation.
An hour or so later I took the dog out for a walk. When I returned, Jeff had a deadly grim look on his face. "It's way too hot out there," he said.
I blinked. Then I saw the corner of his mouth twitch. Then I remembered our earlier conversation and cracked up.
He's such a sweetheart.
