Cracking the code
Got a telephone call asking me to consider making a bequest to the Royal Ontario Museum in my will. (This was all good-natured by the way).
Me: I'm a member and a volunteer, so the ROM is already top of mind.
Her: Does that mean you're considering making a bequest?
Me: It means I'm not keen to discuss that on the phone.
Her: Ah, of course. Hmmm, I'm not sure how to "code" you.
Me: Just code me "inscrutable."
Her: I don't think we have that.
