This place is evil. Fenced in nature, no public transit, most pedestrian unfriendly anywhere.
I am here with a sweetheart who seems to have her shit together, and she is kind to a fault - she has 2 kids who don't respect her, yet - but it seems as though my presence and influence is doing all of them well. I am thankful all the more for the lessons the road has taught up to now. Anyway, her father owns a timeshare, and we came to use it and to check out the local scenery. As far as life goes, I believe it is far better to design a life that you don't need a vacation from. I prefer to live a magical life tuned into the beauty and balance of nature, than the constant buzzing and fruitless competition of the machine and its artifice of manipulation.
When you're made of magic, it seems that the only thing money buys is additional anxiety. I give thanks.
I could have spent time today practicing, and indeed there is the resonant aspect of practice that comes along with composition and journaling, but I haven't really broke any new ground musically in awhile. I have been focusing on drawing a bit more, and on getting organized for the spring. I may have a position in the cards teaching workshops. I also had some business cards made for my service Kuleana.
It's the same trap, it's the same party, it's the same garden it's always been. People will always want respite from their busy lives, people will always benefit from cleanliness and positivity, and from space being held to create of their own accord. People enjoy good company, and to be validated for their work.
Here's to turning a new leaf.
